Photography Retreat: Seeing the light in life
31st May, 6:00 pm to 2nd June, 2:00 pm£245
A photography retreat with Stephen Radley.
The accessibility of photography today provides a powerful tool to help us slow down and see the light of life in new and exciting ways. By combining mindfulness and photography retreatants will discover beauty in different things and learn the power of their story, revealed in what they photograph.
Christian theology will be used throughout the weekend, but the retreat is accessible and open to people of all faiths and none. Retreatants will only require a digital camera and enthusiasm. So, bring your smartphone, compact camera or larger DSLR camera and walk into the light.
On Saturday we will undertake a photo walk and retreatants will be able to take home a high quality mounted image of a photograph taken on that walk. This image will hopefully act as a powerful, physical reminder of their time spent on retreat here at Launde Abbey.
Steve is an Anglican priest and award winning photographer, who combines the creativity of photography with theology. He aims to help people find the light and beauty present in their life, sometimes in new ways, leading to spiritual and emotional wellbeing. He has served as a member of the Lee Abbey community in Devon, in Parish ministry and the RAF Chaplain’s Branch, giving him a broad insight into different people and cultures. Whilst in the military he developed an interest in mindfulness meditation and on leaving he trained as a professional photographer, turning his lifelong passion into a business that helps support his ministry. This ministry is being developed with the support of Ely Diocese where he is a pioneer ministry accompanier.
Early bird price: £225 if booked before February 28th 2019.
