Quiet Day: Seeing Through God’s Lens
1st July, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm£35
A quiet day with Morna Simpson exploring contemplative photography as a spiritual discipline. This brings together elements of Ignatian Spirituality such as Lectio Divina and contemplative prayer with the art form of photography in a spiritual practice which gives way to new perceptions of “noticing” the world around us.
Morna is assistant curate in the Holy Spirit Parish, Leicester and would describe herself as a poet, picture maker and monk in the world. She developed an understanding of contemplative photography as a spiritual discipline during her training for ordination, and later found that other people were also using photography in this way. For her, it is a way of getting lost in the beauty of God’s creation and a beginning to seeing through the lens of God.
