Safeguarding for Group Leaders

Safeguarding for Group Leaders

Launde Abbey is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Our Safeguarding Co-ordinator is the Revd Alan Humphrey, Chaplain at Launde Abbey. The Warden and Trustees of Launde Abbey have agreed a Safeguarding Policy for Children and Young People and a Safeguarding Policy for Vulnerable Adults. Copies of both are kept in Reception. You can also download the latest edition of the Church of England’s Safeguarding Handbook.

If you are bringing a group to Launde Abbey which includes children, young people or vulnerable adults, you will need read and comply with these policies and procedures as part of your contractual agreement.

In particular, if children and young people are involved you will need to:

  1. Read the Safeguarding Policy for Children and Young People
  2. Complete and sign Declaration 2 (docx or pdf)
  3. Complete a Launde Abbey Risk Assessment (docx or pdf)
  4. Return both Declaration 2 and the Risk Assessment to the Safeguarding Co-ordinator at Launde Abbey no later than 2 weeks before the start date of your retreat or activity. Forms may be emailed to or sent to the Revd Claire Goode at Launde Abbey, East Norton, Leicestershire, LE7 9XB.
