Development Manager

Our new Development Manager will have particular responsibility for the development of new offerings, new communities and networks and new income streams, alongside sustaining the current activities of Launde. While our Operations Manager focuses on the internal functions that offer hospitality once guests are onsite, our Development Manager will focus on the externally facing functions, including engaging with guests before their stay, communications and publicity to wider networks, and fundraising.
This role is open to lay or ordained applicants. The role is for 30 hours a week (0.8 FTE) with the basic working pattern negotiable over 4 full or 5 shorter days per week. The Development Manager works onsite but is not resident at Launde.

Senior Chaplain (HfD)

As a member of the Launde Community, our resident Senior Chaplain shares responsibility with the Warden, Deputy Warden and other members of the Ministry Team for delivering the ministry and mission of Launde Abbey, and for contributing to our work of hospitality in support of that ministry. This includes participating in the daily rhythm of prayer in the chapel; sharing in the delivery of retreats and quiet days for the Launde Programme, including the possibility of online resources; sharing in the one-to-one work of pastoral care to staff and guests, and taking responsibility for specific ongoing areas of work and/or development projects in ministry and mission, contributing to the wider life of the Abbey with other skills and experience that they bring.
This role is open to ordained applicants and is a ‘house for duty’ post. The hours of work (3 days a week, 0.5 FTE) are in return for housing.
