Quilting and Textiles Sewing Retreat

31st January 2022, 4:00 pm to 4th February 2022, 2:00 pm

£470

A sample of Boro – a Japanese technique to repair clothing

Naked in Eden; Clothed with Christ

This retreat is an invitation to explore and reflect on how we see clothing and nakedness, the significance of clothing and what the Bible says about clothing and colour. There will be time and space to learn new stitching techniques, and make (or at least start) a textile project of your choosing. Ideas for individual projects will be available. There will also be an underlying theme of “Remaking – repurposing – recycling – reusing” in the sewing projects.

Revd Claire Goode

Revd Claire Goode is a Chaplain at Launde Abbey. She is an experienced parish priest and retreat leader who was most recently the Vicar of a city centre church in Nottingham. Claire was also one of the team offering Spiritual Direction (Spiritual Accompaniment) and Mentoring in Southwell & Nottingham Diocese. She has been sewing ever since she can remember – she had her first sewing machine aged 9 years and has recently studied for a City and Guilds Patchwork and Quilting Certificate.

Early bird price: £450 if booked before 30th November 2021. Full price £470.
