Classical Concert and Cream Tea: Anna Jane Davies and Christopher Susans

Anna Jane Davies, soprano, studied with Yvette Bonner and Christine Cairns before taking up a place to read Early music at the Claudio Abbado School in Milan. In the play A Walk in Shakespeare’s Garden she teamed up with Chris Susans as lutenist.
Christopher Susans, lutenist and guitarist, studied with Frederic Bye. Ensembles director at the Scottish International Guitar Festival and Deputy Director of the Cambridge Guitar Summer School for many years, he has given guitar and lute recitals throughout Britain.
Their concert will include ‘Sweet Love, Sacred and Profane’: the music of Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179), John Dowland (1563–1626) and Barbara Strozzi (1619-1677).
This concert is part of our celebrated Classical Concerts series. Each event features an hour of enjoyable high-class music in our medieval Chapel followed by an optional cream tea.
