Join us as retreat leader Barbara Wallace invites us to pray on an ancient path …
“Thus says the Lord:
Stand at the crossroads, and look,
and ask for the ancient paths,
where the good way lies; and walk in it,
and find rest for your souls .” (Jeremiah 6:16)
Labyrinths have supported the prayer life of Christians since the 4th century. Following a labyrinth path can help us unwind and offer the restless mind an opportunity to be inwardly observant, to pay attention to feelings, to explore challenges and to be open to new thoughts and ideas.
So come and unwind with God and explore the labyrinth path as a support for your spiritual journey. During your retreat there will be some gentle input of the history and variety of labyrinths, plenty of time to walk and pray on the beautiful outdoor and indoor labyrinths at Launde Abbey and learn how to make your own labyrinth too. We will pray with the Scriptures so that God’s word will always be “a light for our feet” (Psalm 119:105). Finger labyrinths will also be available for you to pray with.
The retreat will be led by Barbara Wallace. Barbara is an experienced prayer leader and trained labyrinth facilitator. Through her labyrinth prayer ministry she offers the labyrinth in schools and to church communities. She also works with a homeless charity and takes the labyrinth into a prison for young offenders. Barbara has led labyrinth prayer days and retreats in cathedrals and on a boat! You can find out more about her ministry at www.pilgrimpaths.co.uk.
Early bird price: £315 if booked before February 28th 2019.
