Join us for this Ancient Wells – Living Water event to mark the 900th anniversary of Launde Abbey: a celebration of the Abbey’s anniversary and a great day out for all the family!
Explore the Abbey and its gardens in an afternoon packed with events and activities to suit all ages and tastes:
Enjoy quality food and drink from local producers
Discover craft stalls featuring the work of local craftspeople
Play garden games for all ages: inflatable slide, penalty shoot-out, giant Jenga, and much more!
Have fun with facepainting for kids (and parents, maybe!)
See the work of a medieval bowmaker and try your hand at archery in the walled garden
Walk the Labyrinth with the Community of the Tree of Life
Take a reflective walk in the grounds with the Watershed Community
Take a tour of the House
Do Twenty Minute Monks: a chance for kids to experience medieval monastic life
See the work of our artists in residence and a display about the history of the Abbey
Listen to two great speakers: Adrian Plass (a popular author) and Malcolm Guite (a poet)
Mooch around the classic “summer fayre” stalls: tombola, raffle and more …
There is no charge for participating in this day of celebration although there may be a small cost for specific activities. Food and drink will be available for purchase on site throughout the day.
