Join Matt Long on this online Quiet Day to explore and practice photography as a spiritual discipline. View the world in a new way through the lens of the camera (or smart phone) – not simply taking images but being open to receive them as gift. Take walks and allow the camera to become a tool that helps cultivate a deeper awareness of the movements of God in the world so that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what the hope to which God called you (Ephesians 1:18).
Matt Long is Sub-prior of the Community of the Tree of Life, a House of Prayer and New Monastic Community in Leicester. Matt is fascinated by iPhoneography and Instagram as spiritual tools. Matt will be joined by other members of the community who are enthusiastic amateur photographers (with real cameras).
You don’t need previous experience of photography. Simply, an openness to God, and any old camera or smart phone will do!
