DESCRIPTION:“May God bless the work of our hands”: Praying and Gardening with the Launde Abbey Community \n\n\n\nCome and enjoy an immersive week of volunteering in our beautiful gardens and grounds\, under the supervision of our head gardener\, Karen\, and alongside members of the Launde Abbey Community. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou’ll be able to spend the mornings as part of a team working on a range of tasks and projects in our Victorian walled garden\, sunken garden\, or other areas of the grounds. In the afternoons\, there’s the option to continue gardening or take some time for personal rest and reflection. \n\n\n\nThis retreat offers an opportunity to integrate spiritual reflection with practical work in nature. Each day includes the chance to join the community for chapel worship\, with a daily reflection or reflective walk. \n\n\n\nWe take pride in our hospitality\, and guests will enjoy full board catering and a private\, comfortable bedroom with ensuite facilities as part of your stay with us. \n\n\n\nAll necessary tools and equipment are provided at Launde Abbey\, though you’re welcome to bring your own non-powered gardening tools if you prefer. Please remember to bring your own wellies or suitable footwear and outdoor clothing. \n\n\n\nOur gardening weeks are suitable for able-bodied individuals\, whether you’re an experienced gardener or a beginner. While mornings are dedicated to gardening\, the afternoons offer flexibility\, allowing you to choose whether to continue working or spend time in quiet reflection. \n\n\n\nPlease note that\, due to the popularity of these retreats\, only one booking per year may be made initially\, with the option to join a waiting list if further places become available. \n\n\n\nRetreat price: £520 (standard room) or £560 (character room)EARLY BIRD RATE: £480 (standard room) or £520 (character room) if booked by 9th June 2025!Price includes en-suite accommodation\, all meals\, and all retreat resources.It may be possible for you to extend your stay with us by adding an extra night before or after this retreat.
