SUMMARY:Labyrinth Retreat
DESCRIPTION:book now\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe labyrinth is an ancient symbol\, dating back over 4\,000 years and appearing in many different countries\, cultures and faith traditions. It has been used for centuries as a tool for prayer and meditation. Today\, amidst the pressures and uncertainty of modern life\, people are once again finding themselves drawn to the labyrinth. Walking the winding path of a labyrinth helps us to unwind and offers time and space for quiet reflection. It clears the mind\, relaxes the body\, and opens the heart\, allowing us to respond from the deepest part of ourselves that knows wisdom.  \n\n\n\nDuring our time together\, we will learn more about the fascinating history of labyrinths\, their symbolism\, spirituality and the many ways in which they are being used today. We will walk the labyrinth (both indoors and outside in the garden) with different intentions each day\, and enjoy the tranquillity of a candlelit labyrinth walk after dark. There will be an opportunity to learn how to draw a finger labyrinth and to discover how finger labyrinths can be used in prayer.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNickie Fidgin is an experienced labyrinth facilitator and has been leading retreats and quiet days for many years. In 2015\, she set up the Peaceful Path Project to introduce schools to the labyrinth as a tool for exploring spirituality and wellbeing.  Having originally trained as a nurse\, Nickie is passionate about helping people live in wellness. She also teaches Capacitar\, a body\, mind and spirit programme for trauma healing and wellbeing\, which includes the labyrinth. SUMMARY:Standing Near the Cross: A Lenten Retreat in the Company of Julian of Norwich **MORE SPACES ADDED**
DESCRIPTION:book now\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn 1373 Julian of Norwich experienced a remarkable series of visions of Jesus Christ in his Passion. Her prayerful reflections over many years on that experience are a gift for our times. This Lent we invite you to join us as we explore Julian’s desire to be near the cross\, with Christ to hold the suffering of this world\, and see it in some way transformed in us.  \n\n\n\nThis retreat will be in silence after evening meal on the day of arrival\, up to coffee break on the final morning. There will be a spacious mix of teaching\, stillness and contemplative prayer\, with suggestions for creative attention to the beautiful landscape at Launde. There will also be the possibility of some one-to-one conversations with Gail or Ian. Guests are invited to join in with the community’s daily prayers and eucharist. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGail is a life coach and spiritual director with a particular interest in practices for engaging well with new seasons of life. Ian is a poet\, photographer and spiritual director.
