DESCRIPTION:Take a couple of hours at the beginning of this Advent season\, put on your coat and boots to explore and experience God’s creation. This is an opportunity to stop\, look and listen. Using all your senses to know and understand more about our Everlasting Father and Creator God. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis guided walk will be led by Jo de Graaf. \n\n\n\nJo lives in Harby in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir with her husband\, Cor. Jo believes her ministry is to bring people into God’s Kingdom through love; using contemplative spirituality\, hospitality and service of all kinds to help people feel a sense of wholeness within the love of God. Not only is Jo one of our volunteer chaplains\, but is now the Associate Minister in the Parish of Old Dalby\, and also Lay Chair of Framland Deanery. \n\n\n\nThis walk is planned to begin at 10am. SUMMARY:Advent Quiet Day: Rumours of Angels
DESCRIPTION:Why are angels so fascinating? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDuring Advent angels pop up everywhere. We see them on Christmas cards and gift wrappings\, in shop windows and in Nativity scenes. Sometimes they are blowing their herald-trumpets\, sometimes just floating along ‘with peaceful wings unfurled.’ \n\n\n\nThese angels are just representations. \n\n\n\nThe angels that appeared when Christ was born were real\, rebuking\, informing\, encouraging\, guiding\, protecting\, advising\, and worshiping. They spoke to ordinary people like us\, transforming their vision by revealing to them that God was entering their world. \n\n\n\nThis Quiet Day is an invitation to step back from the December rush of shopping\, planning\, and endless to-do lists to hear afresh the message of the angels. \n\n\n\nWe will: \n\n\n\n\nListen to reflections on the angelic visitations.\n\n\n\nBe creative making an ‘angel’ using driftwood\, shells\, or paper for you to take home.\n\n\n\nEnjoy space for reflection and prayer.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhether you are looking to deepen your faith\, find a moment of peace\, or simply escape the noise of the season\, you are warmly invited. If we listen carefully\, the angels may just have something to say to us. \n\n\n\nRevd Debbie Smith – Resident Chaplain at Launde Abbey \n\n\n\nDebbie brings experience as a psychotherapist\, of teaching pastoral care and counselling and of leading retreats.  She has worked in parish ministry and as a healthcare chaplain\, both in the UK and in New Zealand. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRevd Alison Long – A member of Launde Abbey’s College of Chaplains \n\n\n\nAlison is a spiritual director and curate who has been part of the Launde College of Chaplains and ministry team since last July. \n\n\n\nQuiet Day price: £46 includes lunch and coffee and tea throughout the day. This event is part of An Advent Week with the Launde Abbey Community: A Season Of Longing And Waiting \n\n\n\nWhy not think about extending your time at Launde by staying overnight before or after this Quiet Day. Dinner\, bed and breakfast is £109.10. Check for availability when you contact us. \n\n\n\nYes – I’d like to take part in this Quiet Day!  (Please complete this form to request a place.)  \n\n\n\n \n \n Quiet Day Registration Form\n \n \n Contact DetailsName(Required)\n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n Enter Email\n \n \n \n Confirm Email\n \n \n \n PhoneAddress \n \n \n Street Address\n \n \n Address Line 2\n \n \n City\n \n \n Postcode\n \n \n Country\n AfghanistanÅland IslandsAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAnguillaAntarcticaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaArubaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBonaire\, Sint Eustatius and SabaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBouvet IslandBrazilBritish Indian Ocean TerritoryBrunei DarussalamBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCambodiaCameroonCanadaCape VerdeCayman IslandsCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaChristmas IslandCocos IslandsColombiaComorosCongoCongo\, Democratic Republic of theCook IslandsCosta RicaCôte d'IvoireCroatiaCubaCuraçaoCyprusCzechiaDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEswatiniEthiopiaFalkland IslandsFaroe IslandsFijiFinlandFranceFrench GuianaFrench PolynesiaFrench Southern TerritoriesGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGibraltarGreeceGreenlandGrenadaGuadeloupeGuamGuatemalaGuernseyGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHeard Island and McDonald IslandsHoly SeeHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsle of ManIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJerseyJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiKorea\, Democratic People's Republic ofKorea\, Republic ofKuwaitKyrgyzstanLao People's Democratic RepublicLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacaoMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMartiniqueMauritaniaMauritiusMayotteMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMontserratMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew CaledoniaNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNiueNorfolk IslandNorth MacedoniaNorthern Mariana IslandsNorwayOmanPakistanPalauPalestine\, State ofPanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPitcairnPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRéunionRomaniaRussian FederationRwandaSaint BarthélemySaint Helena\, Ascension and Tristan da CunhaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint MartinSaint Pierre and MiquelonSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbiaSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSint MaartenSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSouth Georgia and the South Sandwich IslandsSouth SudanSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSvalbard and Jan MayenSwedenSwitzerlandSyria Arab RepublicTaiwanTajikistanTanzania\, the United Republic ofThailandTimor-LesteTogoTokelauTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTürkiyeTurkmenistanTurks and Caicos IslandsTuvaluUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUnited StatesUruguayUS Minor Outlying IslandsUzbekistanVanuatuVenezuelaViet NamVirgin Islands\, BritishVirgin Islands\, U.S.Wallis and FutunaWestern SaharaYemenZambiaZimbabwe \n \n \n DetailsDate of Quiet Day(Required)How did you hear about this event?Social MediaGoogleWord of MouthRefer a FriendPast ParticipantOtherAnything else we need to know?\n Submit

DESCRIPTION:A Balanced life – “I wish!”  \n\n\n\nIf this is your reaction\, then please accept my invitation to you\, to draw aside and have the chance to reset\, to welcome Love into your heart\, mind\, soul and body.  \n\n\n\nAdvent is a season that helps us prepare\, ponder and pursue the things of God.  \n\n\n\nTreating ourselves is quite vogue\, but how can we and how do we prepare for a life with God which is here today and not lost tomorrow? \n\n\n\nAdvent is that wonderful opportunity to map out and reimagine our life with God\, a chance to harmonise our rhythm of life. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRev.
