|Description:||Join us for a series of Learn Days in 2018 and 2019. Unlike our Quiet Days, which are an opportunity for quiet and reflection, our Learn Days are teaching days, but with time for consideration of what you are learning and the opportunity to share with others in group work.|
The convalescence of a wounded Basque soldier in 1521 initiated an extraordinary spiritual and missionary movement that has made a huge impact on the church and countless Christians ever since. The spiritual disciplines that Ignatius of Loyala developed for himself and then for the group of fellow students in Paris that became the Society of Jesus, have become a significant means for individuals and groups to renew their relationship with God and discern His purpose for their lives.
In this Learn Day we will look at the background of the exercises, and the key themes and principles that are contained within them. We will consider how we can engage with them today, not just through the four ‘weeks’, by which they are set out, but in other varied and more informal ways. We shall give time to practise some of the exercises that are explored.
