Whether you are a first time visitor or a seasoned guest, we’re delighted to welcome you to Launde Abbey.
We’re as passionate about ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff as we’ve always been. We’re doing everything we can to ensure that during your visit to the Abbey you’re safe and secure. We’re also asking all our guests to play their part, and we’re confident that people will continue to rise to the occasion.
Please take the time to read this information at the time of your booking and also before your arrival. This will help you know what you can expect to experience when you visit us and how you can play your part.
Before you set off
If your plans to visit Launde are disrupted at the last minute because you develop symptoms, have a positive COVID 19 test, or you’re asked to self-isolate by Test and Trace, please call us right away. We’ll do our best to rearrange your visit for another time.
If you, or a fellow guest, experience any symptoms of illness during your stay, please inform a member of staff immediately and we’ll ensure you are given appropriate guidance and assistance.
When you arrive
We have a streamlined check-in process to eliminate queuing and waiting in our check in area. You’ll be asked to confirm a couple of essential details, then you’ll be given your room number and you’re free to go straight to your accommodation. Your key will be sanitised and waiting in the door of your room. The room itself will have been deep cleaned following the departure of the previous guest.
Bedrooms can be accessed from 3pm and the final check in time will be 5pm.
While you’re here
We’re a mask-friendly venue. Our staff will continue to wear masks indoors in public areas of the Abbey and during meal service. With the consideration of others in mind, we warmly encourage our guests to consider doing so too. In addition, hand sanitising facilities continue to be available across the site.
Because your safety is our primary concern, our staff are required to undertake twice weekly lateral flow testing or daily temperature checks, and continue to work in separate ‘bubbles’ to limit the possibility of transmission.
We’re ventilating all public areas and meeting rooms as fully as practicable, and we encourage you to leave windows (and doors, when appropriate) open unless noise or outside weather conditions make this problematic.
Our kitchens and dining area are always run to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Staff members will be in attendance in the dining areas during all mealtimes; please follow any directions they might give or raise any concerns you may have with them. Breakfast and lunch will be provided via a self-service buffet; the evening meal continues to be full table service.
Guests are welcome to use the Chapels for private prayer and to join the daily community worship. All services will follow current Church of England guidelines.
After you leave
We’re required by law to retain your contact details after you leave. If, after your stay, you test positive for COVID 19 your GP or health provider will report this to the NHS Test and Trace team, who in turn will get in touch with us (there’s no need for you to contact us directly).
If you have any questions about these guidelines or some other issue you’d like to discuss please speak in the first instance to the staff at the Reception Desk who will assist you. If necessary you can also ask to speak to the Business Manager or the Warden. Questions and concerns can also be sent to us via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’re delighted to be able to welcome guests safely to Launde, and we’re grateful to you for your cooperation as we endeavour to make your stay here as secure, inspiring and enriching as possible.
