Classical Concert and Cream Tea: Mark Ashford

Born in Northampton, Mark Ashford is an internationally renowned performer and teacher.
Educated at both Chetham’s School of Music and the Royal Academy of Music, London, Mark is a prize winner at many national and international competitions. These include the Guitar Foundation of America, Alessandria International Guitar Competition (Italy), Scandinavian International Guitar Competition, Julian Bream Prize, and BBC Radio 2 Young Musician.
He regularly performs as a soloist and as a member of the Vida Quartet throughout mainland Europe, North America and China.
Mark is currently Head of Guitar at the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music and in 2004 was elected an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music.
