Accessibility

Guests with disabilities are always welcome at Launde Abbey and we’re working hard to ensure as many people as possible can enjoy our facilities, grounds and the experience of being at the Abbey.

Our buildings are very old and we do face challenges in providing access because of their age. While we’re doing all we can to work within the constraints that creates, we’re also really grateful for the patience and understanding of our guests when we can’t make everything absolutely perfect.

A wheelchair is available on-site if required.  It is worth checking ahead of time that this is available during your visit.

Please discuss any particular needs with us before booking and we will endeavour to make your stay as easy for you as possible.

disabled parking

Launde Abbey provides a number of disabled access parking bays located as close as possible to our Café & Reception area.  Please simply display your blue badge.

mobility

The main Abbey house has ramp access to the entrance and push button controlled doors throughout the ground floor. There is level access to the tea room, and a lift in the house which gives access to the main level meeting rooms, toilets and first floor bedrooms.  A second lift provides access to the medieval Chapel.

The Stables block, across a level (but sometimes muddy) car park from the main house, has level access to the ground floor meeting rooms, toilets and bedrooms.

disability-friendly bedrooms

There are three fully equipped disability-friendly bedrooms in the Stables with wetrooms. Adjoining these bedrooms is another bedroom equipped with a panic alarm feature which is ideal for guests with disabilities who require a carer close by. See the accommodation page for more information on our disability-friendly bedrooms.
