Standing Near the Cross: A Lenten Retreat in the Company of Julian of Norwich **MORE SPACES ADDED**

In 1373 Julian of Norwich experienced a remarkable series of visions of Jesus Christ in his Passion. Her prayerful reflections over many years on that experience are a gift for our times. This Lent we invite you to join us as we explore Julian’s desire to be near the cross, with Christ to hold the suffering of this world, and see it in some way transformed in us. 

This retreat will be in silence after evening meal on the day of arrival, up to coffee break on the final morning. There will be a spacious mix of teaching, stillness and contemplative prayer, with suggestions for creative attention to the beautiful landscape at Launde. There will also be the possibility of some one-to-one conversations with Gail or Ian. Guests are invited to join in with the community’s daily prayers and eucharist.

Gail is a life coach and spiritual director with a particular interest in practices for engaging well with new seasons of life. Ian is a poet, photographer and spiritual director. He is Spirituality Lead at Church Mission Society, and writes about the spiritual life.
