Flourishing In Retirement ***FULLY BOOKED***

£178

Monday 15th June @ 10:00 am Tuesday 16th June @ 2:00 pm

Retirement is not the end of the journey—it is the beginning of a new season of purpose, joy, and spiritual growth. Flourishing in Retirement is a retreat designed for Christians who long to embrace this chapter with faith-filled confidence, whether approaching retirement or already retired. Through prayer, fellowship, and guided reflection, we will explore how God calls us to live abundantly, nurture relationships, and continue serving His kingdom with wisdom and grace.

Together, we will reflect on the importance of knowing ourselves—discovering our God-given gifts, understanding our life story, and discerning how our unique identity can shape this new season. We will also consider what it means to find balance, learning how to harmonise rest, service, and personal growth so that our retirement years are both fruitful and peaceful. Alongside this, we will embrace the practice of self-care, cultivating Christ-centred habits that honour body, mind, and spirit, enabling you to flourish with vitality and joy.

Join retreat leaders Florence and Clive Morton for renewal and encouragement as we discover how to flourish in retirement—knowing ourselves, finding balance, practising self-care, and walking in peace with Christ.

Florence taught English in a Scottish comprehensive school in the 1970s and 80s and then worked in the Voluntary sector for a decade. In 2001, she had a couple of strokes. After recovering, she trained as a spiritual director.

Clive is a Professor Emeritus at Middlesex University and Canon Emeritus at Peterborough Cathedral. He is also a trustee of Cambridgeshire Workplace Chaplaincy. He is a civil engineer and holds a PhD in industrial relations from the London School of Economics, and was appointed OBE for his contribution to business and the community in 1992. Clive and Florence also ran Umbrian Retreats for 12 years, and they describe themselves as Anglo-Baptists.
