‘The Light Shines: A retreat for Candlemas’
The Holy Spirit creates and shapes community. St Luke maintains and develops the organic continuities between Jesus and his community of followers by bringing us to prayer. At this season of Candlemas, we spend time with the prayers of Simeon, who is confident to ‘be dismissed’ simply because ‘his eyes have seen” (Luke 2:29-32) and of Mary (Luke 1:38). Their prayers articulate a language of listening & believing; a language of receptive & responsive participation.

This retreat will be led by Revd David Harknett, one of our College of Chaplains.
Quiet Day price: £46 includes lunch and coffee and tea throughout the day.
