February Quiet Day: ‘How then should we pray?’
3rd February, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
£46How then should we pray? A Quiet Day using the poetry of contemporary poet, Mary Oliver as a resource, comfort and challenge.
In her poem ‘Sometimes’, Mary Oliver provides “Instructions for Living a Life”. These are: Pay Attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.
Mary found salvation in the natural world; salvation from poverty and an abusive childhood home. Walking with us, she will invite us to pay attention to ourselves; to our world; to the transcendent and to others. All these things allow us to become more intensely human. And to pray.
This Quiet day will be led by Revd David Harknett, one of our College of Chaplains here at Launde Abbey.
Quiet Day price: £46 includes lunch and coffee and tea throughout the day.
Why not think about extending your time at Launde by staying overnight after the event. Check for availability and a quote when you contact us.
