October Quiet Day: In the Footsteps of Thomas Merton – 20th-century monk, spiritual writer & prophet

Join us for a Quiet Day exploring the life, writings and contemplative vision of Thomas Merton (1915–1968), one of the twentieth century’s most influential Christian spiritual writers. Led by the Revd Canon James Shakespeare, the day offers space for reflection inspired by Merton’s enduring wisdom.

The Revd Canon James Shakespeare is Vicar of St John the Evangelist, Cambridge, Bishop’s Spirituality Adviser for the Diocese of Ely, Rural Dean of Cambridge South, and a member of the Third Order of the Society of St Francis. He has a lifelong fascination with the writings and spiritual wisdom of Thomas Merton and enjoys helping others discover the richness of Merton’s contemplative vision.

Quiet Day price: £46 includes lunch and coffee and tea throughout the day.
