One a Penny, Two a Penny, Hot Cross Buns: A Hot Cross Bun–Making Reflection ***FULLY BOOKED***

£46

Thursday 2nd April @ 10:00 am 4:00 pm

Join Launde Abbey’s Deputy Warden, Revd Anna Walker, for a day of baking and reflection. Under the expert guidance of Launde Abbey chef and patisserie baker, Graham, we will engage in the slow process of mixing, kneading, shaping and waiting, which models to us a beautiful rhythm for prayer and activity, reflection and mindful doing, and the outcome will be lovely fresh hot cross buns to taste and take home. As well as learning about this Lenten tradition, we will be thinking about the images of yeast and bread in the Bible, and specifically the bread of life, the body of Christ, broken for the world.

The Revd Anna Walker is the new Deputy Warden of Launde Abbey and a spiritual director. She grew up in the Finnish Lutheran Church and trained for ministry in Helsinki, later moving to the UK with her husband, whom she met while volunteering at the Taizé community in France. Anna is drawn to seek God in silence, simplicity and creation. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, reading, journaling, and spending time outdoors.

Price: £46 includes lunch and coffee and tea throughout the day.
