Through teaching, reflection and silence at Launde Abbey, this quiet day considers how their pursuit of simplicity, prayer and solitude might shape faithful, less distracted lives in modern Britain. Jo De Graaf, one of our college of chaplains, will be exploring how we can find peace, joy, love and hope in the beauty of nature. There will be the opportunity, for those who wish, to accompany Jo on a ‘soul filled meandering’ in the beautiful grounds of Launde Abbey.

On this Quiet Day, musician and priest Rev’d Dr Becky Warner will be offering some ways of praying and reflecting with God through some of the nation's favourite hymns.

John Rackley will offer three short meditations on this beautiful Irish poem, whose origins can be traced back to the early days of Celtic Christianity and has written a liturgy based on the hymn created by Eleanor Henrietta Hull to close the day we may share together. He intends this to be an opportunity for us to reflect on the heights and depths of our relationship with God.

A quiet day to meditate afresh on the phrases of the Lord’s Prayer. Through short talks and quiet reflection, there will be an opportunity to engage with prayer stations to express our response creatively as we pray through the core themes of the prayer. Led by our Resident Chaplain, Revd Debbie Smith.

This day will include a gentle invitation to share in collective reflection on the pictures we will look at, as well as guided exploration of Spencer’s work and our own spiritual lives. There will be plenty of space for quiet time within the grounds or the Abbey. Led by Susannah Underwood.
