Our chaplain, Catherine, will guide reflections on themes from the Psalms, drawing on Walter Brueggemann’s insights into ‘orientation’, ‘disorientation’ and ‘re-orientation’. Alongside her input, there will be space for prayer, walking and listening to God.

Woodworkers often speak of ‘working with the grain’ as they fashion wood into beautiful and useful items.
On this quiet day, there will be the opportunity to explore what this might mean for yourself and for the communities that you are part of. We will be using Scripture, art and poetry to explore this theme. Led by Revd Catherine Wright.

February Quiet Day: The Light Shines – A Retreat for Candlemas
At this season of Candlemas, we spend time with the prayers of Simeon, who is confident to ‘be dismissed’ simply because ‘his eyes have seen” (Luke 2:29-32) and of Mary (Luke 1:38). One a Penny, Two a Penny, Hot Cross Buns: A Hot Cross Bun–Making Reflection ***FULLY BOOKED***
Join Launde Abbey’s Deputy Warden, Revd Anna Walker, for a day of baking and reflection. Under the expert guidance of Launde Abbey chef and patisserie baker, Helen, we will engage in the slow process of mixing, kneading, shaping and waiting, which models to us a beautiful rhythm for prayer and activity, reflection and mindful doing, and the outcome will be lovely fresh hot cross buns to taste and take home.
